MCA Exhibition and Delicious Macaroons in Sydney

On Sunday, Miss M and I checked out the Jeff Wall Photography Exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art at the Rocks.

Jeff Wall’s large-scale photographs in light boxes really jump out at you. The photographs capture everyday life and were taken during different time periods from the 1970s until now.

I loved ‘A sudden gust of wind (after Hokasai)’ (1993)….

…. and ‘Boy falls from tree’ (2010).

It’s incredible that he captured these moments regardless of whether or not it was staged. The exhibition ends on the 28th July so try to go asap! It won’t take you long to wander through this interesting exhibition.

Here is the view from the lift at the MCA – what a perfect day in Sydney.

After getting your culture fix, you can head to the Baroque Bistro like we did for a cup of coffee and a tasty macaroon (or two!).

Miss M said that they are among the best macaroons in Sydney – and after trying two, I would have to agree!

We both tried the salted caramel flavour which was absolutely perfect – you can’t go wrong with salty caramel! I also tried the pretty pink rose water flavour which tasted like a Turkish delight in macaroon – delish! Miss M had the passionfruit flavour for her second macaroon. They really were very well made, you have to try one yourself!

It’s a lovely bistro, we sat on the couches outside and enjoyed the warm Sydney weather. Gosh I love living in this city!

After polishing off our macaroons and coffee, we wandered over my pretty Sydney bridge all the way home.

What a lovely Sunday morning! I hope you see the exhibition and try a Baroque macaroon soon!
