So since the last post, well June was a bit better and we were able to explore some new restaurants and cafes in Sydney. You can always follow me on Instagram, but here’s a round up of some new places we tried and enjoyed!
Grind & Dose, Neutral Bay
Located in Neutral Bay Junction with a view of Military Road, this little cafe serves a hearty, wholesome and delicious breakfast served with sauces – any type of sauce you like. I had the breakfast stack of toast topped with avo, tomato, bacon, fried eggs, feta and rocket with Japanese mayo for my sauce although I dipped into my boyfriend’s BBQ sauce as well. He had scrambled eggs with bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes.
Frenchys in Mosman
This lovely cafe with mostly outdoor seating is situated in the leafy suburb of Mosman. This is the perfect spot for sunny days as most of the seating is outside in the sun. Breakfast has the usual fare of eggs, bacon, avocado etc while the lunch menu consist of sandwiches, quiches, salads and a few pies. We had chicken salad sandwiches, juice, lemon tarts and gluten free donuts in the sun – the perfect way to thaw this winter.
Toshiya, Cremorne
One of our favourite restaurants serving Japanese food – dumplings, hot pot, sushi, sashimi, teriyaki and whatever else you may be thinking of. The food is always delicious and the service is fast and friendly.
Cafe Sydney
We celebrated my boyfriend’s brother’s birthday here last month so I didn’t take any food photos (I always think it’s a bit rude to take photos at functions or group dinners!) but I did catch this view. We sat inside first and were served quickly but a little too briskly. The wait staff were good but very busy. The food was amazing though. Just before dessert, though, the waiter was more relaxed because it was less busy and even gave us a table outside for dessert. So we sat under heaters with thick, warm blankets and enjoyed our dessert with this view of the city all lit up from the Vivid Light Festival.
The Tea Salon, Sydney CBD
A lovely colleague brought around a cupcake from this lovely little cafe in the Westfield Shopping Mall to share – I took a photo of the whole cupcake with my colour co-ordinated notebook and cup of tea and before we cut it in half and enjoyed. It was rather delicious and more-ish.
Watermark Cafe, Sydney and Brisbane Airport (Qantas Terminal)
Books and tea at the airport while you wait for your flight. The best cafe in the world, in my opinion!
